The museum’s opening ceremony was held on 13 May 2006 and it was opened to the public on 15 May 2006

The Seinan Gakuin University Museum is a rather small museum, but it is particular suitable for educational activities related to Christianity. Due to its characteristic insight on Christian culture its reputation increases year by year. The building, that was designed by William Merrell Vories as Seinan Gakuin’s main building in 1921, became the symbol of the University, because of the historical significance and impressiveness of its red brick facade. The museum hosts lots of activities and events: Two times a year special or temporary exhibitions, public lectures, academic conferences and concerts are held and several times a year a “Children Workshop” for the local children takes place.
